We are glad to share with you the scientific outputs of the Research Project “Air Pollution in Kosovo: Short Term Effects on Hospital Visits of Children Due to Respiratory Health Diagnoses” (coordinated by the Medical University of Vienna, Center for Public Health, in partnership with University of Prishtina, Medical Faculty, the Department of Social Medicine/Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Faculty of Medicine) funded by HERAS Plus under the Research Grant Scheme.

The research consisted of a time-series analysis based on daily health data (hospital admissions, ambulatory hospital visits, and deaths), air quality data, and meteorological data (daily temperatures). The research seeks to provide evidence about the associations between air pollution and children’s health and the formative analysis of the level of awareness, knowledge, practices, and risk perception of the current situation with air pollution in a different group of stakeholders in Kosovo.
