University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” (UP) is being supported in their quest for developing open access policies, respectively the Regulation on Open Access to Research Infrastructure, which is expected to contribute towards increasing transparency and participation in research related activities within UP, increase international visibility and re-usability of research, whilst supporting emerging funder expectations and preparing towards joining the respective International Networks for Open Access to Research Infrastructure.

During this kickoff meeting, Expert Ms. Ilire Hasani Mavriqi presented the work methodology and dynamic workplan, which was endorsed by University of Prishtina. Prof. Avni Hajdari, Office for Sponsored Research, UP stressed the importance of inventorying and creating the necessary regulation/framework of open access to research infrastructure to enable inter-disciplinary cooperation. Whist, Ms. Fitore Fazliu, Thematic Coordinator for Research and Innovation, gave an overview or related activities of support from HERAS Plus such as the Current Research Information System which (among other features) will centralize the Research Infrastructure Inventory and create the necessary interfaces for multi-purpose use and evidence-based decision making, to be of benefit for all Higher Education Institutions in Kosovo.
